HORRENDOUS SEASON

The horrendous season that Manchester United is going through is even affecting the chances of some players on getting noticed and being a candidate for representing their respective club for the 2014 World Cup.

Michael Carrick is a constant starter for David Moyes and his plans but his form has taken a sudden change, much like just about the rest of the entire team which are suffering from finding their best form. So far it has been either Wayne Rooney or Van Persie who have been the main driving force behind United’s last few positive results.

The veteran midfielder used to be the main man in midfield and while he still remains being an important figure in the center of the park, it is evident that his passing skills have taken a huge hit as it is not the same from what it used to be just some months ago.

While Michael Carrick’s form has been going down, Chelsea’s Frank Lampard is the other way around. Roy Hodgson is expected to bring 2 of his veteran midfielder with him to Brazil and Steven Gerrard already has his spot secured but the other one will be between Lampard and Carrick and the tide is quickly turning in favor of the Chelsea player who has been in a far more impressive form than Carrick.

Roy Hodgson and his men have to face off against Italy, Uruguay and Costa Rica as they were pitted in a group where many people are considering to be one of the hardest, which puts more pressure on the tactician who has to make a right choice if he wants to get into the next stages of the 2014 World Cup and fight for a chance on getting the silverware that England has failed to get since 1966.
